‘Push for Equality’: A local group is working to bring some girl power to high school sports

BRAINTREE, Mass. — It’s been 50 years since Title IX passed but one local youth group founded an organization that continues to push for equality in women’s sports by empowering girls through athletics.
A group of high school girls from Massachusetts started “Glam Girl,” the Global Local Athletic Movement, to create more opportunities for young women and girls to play sports and promote gender equality in schools, communities, and the world.
Glam Girl also extends to individual clubs at various schools in Massachusetts. Caroline Gelina is a member of the Glam Girl Club at Thayer Academy.
